About Us

Your Life in Welwyn Garden City provides care and support to people in their own homes across the town and the surrounding parts of Hertfordshire. We work with older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia.

Staying at home is what most people want, and with sensible support in place it is often entirely achievable. Our job is to work out what that support actually needs to be, which means starting with the day as it stands rather than with a menu of options. What has become difficult. What somebody most wants to hold onto. Where a little help would make all the difference, and where it would simply be interference.

From there our carers help with personal care, medication, meals, household tasks and getting out of the house. For people living with dementia in particular we try to keep the same carers visiting, because an unfamiliar face at the door can turn an ordinary morning into a distressing one, and because familiar staff can tell the difference between a bad day and something that needs acting on.
