About Us

Hartwig Care provides support to people in their own homes across Welwyn Garden City and the wider Hertfordshire area. We work with older people, with younger adults, with people living with dementia and with people managing mental health conditions, and the common thread is that everyone we visit wants to stay where they are rather than move.

What we do varies a great deal. For one person it is a short morning call to help with washing and dressing and to make sure medication is taken. For another it is several visits a day, help with meals and shopping, and someone keeping an eye on how they are doing. For a family who have been managing alone, it can simply be a few hours a week of reliable cover.

We try to keep the same carers with the same people. It sounds like a small thing, but it is the difference between a stranger in your kitchen and someone you are pleased to see. Carers are given enough time to do the visit properly rather than being pushed on to the next call.
