About Us

Taks Healthcare provides care at home across Stevenage and the surrounding parts of Hertfordshire. We support older adults and younger adults, people living with dementia, people with a learning disability and autistic adults, those with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, and people living with an eating disorder.

Supporting somebody with an eating disorder at home is delicate work and we do not treat it lightly. Mealtimes can be the hardest part of a person's day, and the support around them has to be calm, consistent and free of judgement. Staff working in that area are prepared for it specifically, because good intentions are not sufficient and can make things worse.

Across the rest of our work the principle is the same. We train people for the particular person they are going to support rather than in general terms, and we keep the same care workers visiting the same households so that trust has a chance to build.
