About Us

Avenues Healthcare is a home care agency working in Stevenage and across Hertfordshire. We visit people in their own homes and provide the support that makes staying there possible, from a single morning call to several visits a day and support in the evening.

Most of the people we support are older. We help with personal care, medication, meals and drinks, keeping the house in order, shopping and getting out, which is often the first thing to go and one of the most important to keep. We also notice and report the quieter changes, because picking something up early often prevents a fall or a hospital admission.

For people living with dementia we keep the same care workers going into the same homes wherever the rota allows, follow the routine the household already has and leave things where the person expects to find them. We support adults with mental health needs, where reliability matters more than anything else we do, and people with a physical disability who need help to move safely and manage day to day. We also support younger adults, fitting visits around work, study or family life.

Our care workers are trained for the people they actually visit, and we would rather turn work down than take on something we cannot do properly.
