About Us
Gracefilled Care supports people in their own homes in Hitchin and the surrounding parts of Hertfordshire. We work with older people and younger adults, with people living with dementia or mental ill health, and with people who have physical disabilities or sight and hearing loss.
Most people come to us at a point where daily life has become harder than it was. What makes staying at home possible differs in every household. It can be a short call in the morning for washing, dressing and breakfast, several visits across the day, support with medication, help getting out to appointments, or a longer visit so that a family carer gets a genuine break.
We meet the person before anything begins, agree what will actually help rather than what is easiest to arrange, and write it down in plain language. When needs change we change the plan with them.
Our carers are expected to take their time, particularly where dementia, mental ill health or sensory loss is part of the picture. Slowing down and explaining clearly usually prevents the distress that rushing creates.
We keep the same staff with the same households as far as the rota allows. Being helped with private things is easier with a face you know, and regular carers notice early when somebody is unwell. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss support.
