About Us

Care 4 You Direct provides care and support in people's own homes in Hitchin and across the surrounding parts of Hertfordshire. We work with older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia.

What we are looking for, in every case, is the smallest amount of help that makes the day work. Care that quietly takes over is the easiest sort to provide and does real damage over time, so we pay close attention to what somebody still manages, protect it, and put support around the rest. Sometimes that means prompting and supervision rather than doing. Sometimes, where needs are higher, it means several visits a day and full personal care, and we do that properly too.

Everything starts with a visit at home and a conversation rather than a form. What time you like to be up. How you take your tea. What you would rather keep doing yourself even though it is slow. What has genuinely become hard.

We keep the same small team going to the same people, and we plan cover for holidays and sickness properly instead of filling gaps with whoever is available. For anyone living with dementia, a familiar face at the door prevents a great deal of distress before it starts.
