About Us
Patience Rehab & Care provides care in people's own homes in Hemel Hempstead and across Hertfordshire. We support older people, adults living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, people living with mental health conditions, adults with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, younger adults, and people affected by eating disorders.
Rehabilitation is a real part of what we do. A good deal of our work involves supporting somebody after a spell in hospital or a change in health, when the aim is not simply to provide care but to help a person get back to doing things for themselves. We would far rather work our way out of a job than leave a package running longer than it needs to.
That means reviewing arrangements honestly. If somebody needs less from us we say so, and if what we are providing has stopped matching the situation we raise it rather than let it drift.
The support itself ranges from a short morning call covering washing, dressing and medication through to a steady presence across the day. We keep the same carers with the same person wherever the rota allows, because familiarity makes personal care easier and because a familiar carer notices early when things are wrong.
