About Heed to Care
Heed to Care provides support in people's own homes in Hatfield and the surrounding parts of Hertfordshire. We work with adults who want help to run their own lives rather than a service that takes over. For older people we help with washing and dressing, prompting and support with medication, meals and drinks, laundry, shopping and keeping the home comfortable, and we help people get out and about, which is often the part that slips first. We support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, where the work is usually about independence: cooking, managing money, using local transport, keeping a job or a course going, and having staff who understand how somebody communicates and what makes a day difficult. For adults with mental health needs the most useful thing we do is turn up reliably, without judgement, and stay long enough to be of real use. Many of the people we support are younger adults, so we plan around study, work and social life. We take time to get to know a person before making plans, and we involve the people who matter to them where that is wanted. Our staff are trained for the individuals they support. Please get in touch if you would like to talk about support at home here.
