We visit people in their own homes and help with whatever is needed to make staying there safe, comfortable and genuinely enjoyable. The people we support include older adults who want to remain independent, those living with dementia, people with a physical disability, and younger adults who need practical help at home. Our visits might cover personal care, prompting or administering medication, preparing meals, light housework, shopping, or simply providing company and a watchful eye. Some people need half an hour in the morning. Others need several calls a day. We build the package around the person rather than offering a fixed menu. Before we start we sit down properly with the person and, if they wish, their family. We want to know how they like things done, not just what tasks need doing. That conversation becomes a written plan that our carers follow and that we revisit as circumstances change. We put real effort into continuity, so people are not meeting a stranger each week. Carers are trained for the specific needs they will encounter, and there is always someone contactable if a family has a worry. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission.
