About AMSEK Support Services

AMSEK Support provides care at home to people in Borehamwood and the surrounding parts of Hertfordshire. We work with older people and people living with dementia, with people who have physical disabilities or a visual or hearing impairment, and with younger adults who need support to live independently. Our visits are shaped around the person's own routine rather than a fixed package. That might be a call first thing to help with washing, dressing and medication so the day starts safely, support at several points with meals, mobility, laundry and the house, or a hand to get out to appointments, the shops and the people who matter. For many of the households we visit, having somebody familiar with time for a proper conversation counts for as much as the tasks. We come out before anything begins, agree the plan with the person and whoever they want involved, write it in plain words and review it as needs change. We say honestly when we think somebody needs more than can safely be provided at home. Continuity is what families judge us on, so we work to send the same carers to the same households, arrive when we said we would and ring if we are running behind.
