About Us

Jankan Care provides support in people's own homes in Romford and the surrounding part of Havering. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities, people with visual or hearing impairment and younger adults.

That is a broad range of need, and rather than simply list it we would sooner explain how we handle it. Every arrangement starts with a proper conversation about what somebody actually wants help with, what they can manage perfectly well themselves and how they want things done in their own home.

Consistency is what we work hardest at, because care at home only really works when the person opening the door recognises who is on the other side. We build small, settled teams and keep changes to a minimum. For people living with dementia that familiarity does more good than anything else we could promise, and we also take time to learn about a person's life because it helps us make sense of what we see.

Where we support autistic adults, people with learning disabilities and younger adults, the emphasis is on enabling rather than doing, and we plan around work, college, travel and family life rather than around our rota.
