About Stillcare
Stillcare provides home care across Haringey and the surrounding parts of north London, supporting people in their own homes. Our work is with older adults, with adults who have a learning disability, with autistic adults, with people managing a mental health condition, and with younger adults. Those are quite different kinds of work and we try not to blur them. For most of the older people we visit, the whole point of us is that they stay in the house they know rather than move. For younger adults and for people with a learning disability, our job is usually the opposite of taking over. It is making independence workable, which can mean cooking together, sorting out travel, managing appointments, or dealing with organisations plainly not designed for people who think differently. Where mental health is the central issue, the work is mostly patient and ordinary. Keeping a routine steady when somebody is unwell. Noticing early when things are sliding and saying so without making a crisis of it. Backing off when somebody is well. We write plans in language the person can actually read, and we try to send the same few workers to each household. We have not yet had a full inspection by the Care Quality Commission, so there is no rating to show you. Ring us and judge us on the visit.
