About Us

Paradise Independent Living supports adults in their own homes across Enfield and the wider London area. We work with people who have a learning disability, autistic people, people with mental health needs, people living with a physical disability, and people working through difficulties with alcohol or drugs. Much of our work is with younger adults.

Independence is in our name because it is the point. Our support is meant to widen what somebody can do rather than narrow it. That might mean practical help around the flat, going along to appointments, sorting out benefits and post, cooking together, or being a steady presence at the times of day that are hardest. As confidence grows, we expect to be needed less, and we count that as the work going well.

Supporting people with mental health needs, or with a history of substance misuse, calls for consistency and a lack of drama. We do not treat a setback as a reason to withdraw or to rewrite everything. We stick with what was agreed, we keep talking, and we work alongside whoever else is involved rather than around them.

London is a place where people can fall out of touch easily, so we pay attention to the connections that matter to somebody and help protect them.
