About Surecare

We are Surecare Enfield, a home care provider working across the London borough of Enfield. We support adults in their own homes: older people, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities or sensory loss, younger adults, and people dealing with problems relating to alcohol or drugs. That is a wide range of people, and we have learned not to offer one shape of support and hope it fits. We start with a proper conversation about what is actually difficult, what somebody still manages perfectly well, and what would make the biggest difference. Then we build the visits around that and change them when circumstances change. In practice our carers help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, mobility, household jobs, shopping, appointments and company. For people living with dementia we work hard to keep the same faces visiting at consistent times, because familiarity does more good than reassurance ever will. Where our work touches addiction or mental health, we aim to be reliable and non judgemental when things are hard, not only when they are going well. We are usually the people best placed to notice that something has changed, so we pass concerns on promptly to families, GPs, district nurses and social workers, with the agreement of the person we visit. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. We keep asking the people we visit whether we are still worth that.
