About Us

FitzRoy Supported Living in Uckfield supports adults living with learning disabilities and autism in their own homes across the town and the surrounding parts of East Sussex, including people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment.

Support at home should widen a life rather than manage it down, and that idea decides most of what we do. We begin with what a person wants their week to contain, what they can already do, where they would like to become more independent and where they genuinely need somebody alongside them. The plan follows from that, rather than starting with a list of tasks and fitting the person around it.

Day to day our staff help with the ordinary business of running a home and a life. Cooking, shopping, money, appointments, travel, college, work and keeping up with family and friends, alongside personal care where it is needed. Communication is planned around each individual, because choice only becomes real when somebody is properly understood.
