About Us
We are Stokes England, and we provide care in people's own homes across St Leonards on Sea and the surrounding parts of East Sussex. Our work is built on a simple idea: with the right support at the right moments, most people can carry on living where they want to live, keeping their own front door, their own routine and their own say over how the day goes.
We support adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, and much of that work is about steadiness. Familiar staff, arrangements explained in advance, and a pace that suits the person rather than the clock. We also support people with physical disabilities, helping with mobility, transfers, personal care and the practical tasks that make independent living workable, and people living with sight or hearing loss, where good communication and a patient approach count for a great deal.
Before we start, we sit down with the person and anyone else they want involved and agree what the support should actually do. Some people want help for an hour in the morning. Others need several visits a day, or a hand with getting out into the community. We write the plan around that and revisit it when circumstances shift.
