About Us

We are Goodoaks Homecare East Dorset, based in Wimborne and supporting adults in their own homes across the area.

We support older people and people living with dementia, and we also support younger adults who need help with daily life. In practice that means personal care, support with medication, meals, shopping and housework, help getting out to appointments, and the company that often matters as much as any task on a care plan.

We put a great deal of weight on continuity and on the length of a visit. Home care done in a hurry is not worth much, particularly for somebody living with dementia, where a familiar worker arriving at a familiar time can be the difference between a settled day and an unsettled one. So we try hard to send the same small group of people, and we stay the time we agreed rather than rushing off to the next call.

We also ask, at the outset and repeatedly afterwards, what somebody wants from us and what they would rather keep doing themselves.
