About Duty Care
Duty Care supports people in and around Wimborne in their own homes. We arrange visits around the routines somebody already has rather than around what suits a rota, and we aim to keep the same carers going to the same people. We support older people who need help with the everyday tasks that have become harder, personal care, medication, meals, shopping and getting out safely. We support people living with dementia, where familiarity and patience are worth more than any amount of written instruction handed to a stranger. We also work with people living with a physical disability, where good support is mostly about restoring practical independence, people with sight or hearing loss, where sensible adjustments change how a day feels, and younger adults, whose priorities are often quite different. We take a plain view of quality. Does the carer arrive when we said. Do they stay the full visit. Do they know the person well enough to notice a change. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather state that clearly. Until then, test us on those points.
