About Unicare

Unicare Devon supports people in their own homes in Newton Abbot and the surrounding area. We work with older people and younger adults, with people living with dementia or mental ill health, with people who have physical disabilities or sight and hearing loss, and with adults who have a learning disability or are autistic. We do not arrive with a package already decided. We meet the person, ask how they want their day to go, find out what has become difficult and what they would still rather manage themselves, and agree support that fills the gap without taking over. For some households that is a single call first thing. For others it is several visits a day, help with medication, support to get out to appointments, or a longer visit that gives a family carer a genuine rest. Everything agreed is written plainly and revised when circumstances change rather than left in place out of habit. If somebody needs more than home care can safely provide, we say so rather than letting things drift. Much of this part of Devon is rural, and we plan visits and cover with that in mind so people are not left waiting. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to talk through what support might look like.
