About Home Instead

Home Instead in Dawlish provides care and support to people in their own homes across the town and the surrounding parts of Devon. We work with older people and younger adults, including many people living with dementia. Staying at home is what most people want, and with the right support in place it is often entirely achievable. Our job is to work out what that support genuinely needs to be, which means starting with the day as it stands rather than with a menu of services. What has become difficult. For people living with dementia in particular we try to keep the same carers visiting, because an unfamiliar face at the door can turn an ordinary morning into a distressing one, and because familiar staff can tell the difference between a bad day and something that needs acting on.
