About N-Able Care

N Able Care supports adults in their own homes in Axminster and the surrounding part of Devon. Our work is with adults who have learning disabilities, with autistic adults and with people who have physical disabilities, most of them younger adults. What our support is for is widening somebody's life rather than managing it. That means asking how a person wants things done and then doing it their way, and spending time alongside them while they do a thing themselves rather than doing it on their behalf. Support covers cooking, shopping, money, appointments, travel, work or college, keeping in touch with people, and personal care and medication where it is needed. We should be open about where we stand. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us requires improvement overall. We did not dispute the findings. Since then we have strengthened supervision and training, tightened how we manage and check visits, medicines and records, and increased how closely senior staff look at the support actually being given rather than the support described on paper. The work is continuing and we are not going to pretend it is finished. We would far rather raise that ourselves and answer questions about it honestly than leave a family to discover it later. If you want to know how we would support a particular person, or what exactly we have changed, please ask us directly.
