About Us
At Real Life Options Long Eaton Supported Living and Outreach, we support people across Nottingham and Derbyshire to live as independently as possible, in their own homes and on their own terms. We are a home care agency, and the work we do is shaped entirely around the individuals we support rather than a one size fits all approach.
We work with a wide range of people, including older adults, younger adults, and those living with a learning disability or autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, or visual and hearing impairments. We also support people who are navigating challenges with alcohol or drug misuse. Whatever someone's circumstances, our starting point is always the same: getting to know the person, understanding what matters to them, and building support around that.
Outreach and supported living look different for everyone. For some people that might mean help with daily routines, managing a home, or getting out into the community. For others it means more intensive, consistent support that gives them the stability to move forward. We try to be flexible and responsive, because people's needs change and good support should be able to change with them.
We are straightforward about where we are as an organisation. Our current CQC rating is listed as not yet rated, and we take the responsibility of working toward a positive inspection outcome seriously. We are not complacent about that, and we hold ourselves to account through regular reviews, open conversations with the people we support, and ongoing learning within our team.
If you are looking for support for yourself or someone you care about, we would genuinely welcome a conversation. You can reach us directly to talk through what you need, and we will do our best to be honest about whether we are the right fit.

More about the care at Real Life Options - Long Eaton Supported Living and Outreach
What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.
Older Person Care
Getting up, getting dressed and getting through the day safely is the substance of older person care, with medication prompts and a little conversation alongside. Real Life Options Long Eaton Supported Living and Outreach is registered for older person care, so support of this kind is provided where someone already lives. Because no overall rating has been published for the service yet, families have less to go on and should ask rather more questions than usual. Find out how visit times are set, whether the same carers return each week, and what happens if a call is running late. Ask what is available in the evening and whether anything at all is offered overnight. Across the East Midlands, hourly charges generally fall between 26 and 31 pounds.
Learning Disability / Autism
Independence skills, a predictable week and attention to sensory triggers tend to define good support for people with a learning disability or autism. This is one of the areas Real Life Options Long Eaton Supported Living and Outreach is registered to cover. Ask who writes the support plan, how often it is reviewed with the council, and how the person is involved in deciding what changes.
Mental Health
Stability is usually the point of mental health support at home, with routine, privacy and dignity doing much of the work. Real Life Options Long Eaton Supported Living and Outreach is registered to support adults living with mental health conditions. Ask what experience the staff team has in this area, and what the service does when someone becomes unwell between visits or needs urgent help.
Physical Disability
An accessible bathroom, the right hoist and carers who know how to use it separate a safe transfer from a risky one. Physical disability is included in the registration held by Real Life Options Long Eaton Supported Living and Outreach. Check how the service works with occupational therapists on equipment and adaptations, and whether two carers can be provided where a move requires it.
Visual / Hearing Impairment
Good lighting, belongings kept where they were left and carers who speak face to face all help when sight or hearing is failing. Real Life Options Long Eaton Supported Living and Outreach holds registration covering visual and hearing impairment. Families should ask how staff are briefed on a person's communication needs, and what is done to keep aids clean, charged and genuinely in use.
Alcohol / Drug Misuse
Recovery focused support leans on consistency and clear boundaries, offering practical help without judgement. Alcohol and drug misuse is among the categories Real Life Options Long Eaton Supported Living and Outreach is registered for. Ask what experience the team has with dependency, how a relapse is handled, and whether the service links up with local treatment and recovery groups.
Younger Adults
Priorities at 25 or 40 rarely match those of someone in their eighties, and support ought to reflect that in both its timing and its tone. Younger adults fall within the registration held by Real Life Options Long Eaton Supported Living and Outreach. Ask how support fits around employment, education and seeing friends, and how the service avoids making an adult feel managed.
