About Premier Community
Premier Community provides care and support to people in their own homes in Ilkeston and across Derbyshire. We work with older people and younger adults, including people with physical disabilities and people who have a visual or hearing impairment. The people we visit are at home, and we are the guests. How the kitchen is arranged, what time the day starts, what help is welcome and what would feel like an intrusion are theirs to decide. Our job is to fit around that rather than expect the reverse, and to do it reliably enough that people can plan their lives around us. Support ranges from a single visit that makes the morning manageable to several calls a day covering personal care, medication, meals, household tasks and getting out of the house. For people with sensory impairment we take particular care over how we announce ourselves, how we give information, and how we make sure nothing gets moved without being mentioned. We try to send the same small group of carers to each person, because familiar staff are trusted more readily and because they are the ones who notice change early. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
