About Us
Newdon Health Care is a home care agency in Chesterfield, supporting people in their own homes across Derbyshire. We visit older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults who are autistic or have a learning disability and people living with a physical disability.
Support at home works when it is planned around the person rather than around our convenience. We ask how a good day goes, what somebody would rather keep doing themselves, what they would find intrusive and who should be contacted if we are worried. What our visits cover follows from that, and commonly includes personal care, medication, meals, shopping, appointments and help to get out locally.
Familiar workers are the heart of it. Sending an unknown face into someone's home first thing is not a small thing, so we keep the same small team going to the same household, we plan realistic travel time between calls, and we ring if a time has to move. Familiarity also means change gets noticed, and noticing early is usually what keeps a person at home rather than in hospital.
