About Us
Tattenhall Local Care supports older people in their own homes in Tattenhall and the villages around Chester. We are a local organisation working in a small area, and we think that is a strength rather than a limitation.
Because we cover a defined patch, our carers are not spending half the day driving between calls, which means visits can be the length they are supposed to be and people are not left waiting. It also means the same small group of carers goes to the same households, so people see faces they know.
What we provide depends on the person. It can be a call first thing to help with washing, dressing and getting breakfast, several visits across the day, support with medication, help getting out to appointments, or a longer visit that gives a family carer a proper rest. We agree it with the person before anything starts and write it down plainly.
Rural life can be isolating in later years, and a good deal of what we do is simply making sure somebody is not on their own from one day to the next.
