B Home care and Co supports people in their own homes across Cheshire West and Chester. We visit older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, people living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities and people whose sight or hearing has changed. Care at home works when it is quietly reliable. Turning up when we said we would. Sending people the household already knows. Allowing enough time so that a visit is not a scramble. Writing down what actually happened so the next carer is not guessing. None of that is glamorous, but it is what families notice and what keeps somebody living safely at home for longer. What we help with varies. For one person it is washing and dressing each morning. For another it is medication, meals and shopping. For a third it is several calls a day while a family carer does the rest and needs to know we will be there. We agree the plan with the person and whoever they want involved, and we change it when things change rather than waiting for a review date. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. We would rather be plain about that than let it pass unmentioned. In the meantime we are happy to explain how we recruit, train and supervise our staff, how medication is handled and what we do when something goes wrong.
