About Us
Solid Rock Care supports adults at home in Bedford and across Central Bedfordshire.
The people we visit include older people who want to carry on living in their own houses, adults living with dementia, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and younger adults who need support to manage independently.
What we do depends on the person. It might be a short morning call to help with washing, dressing and breakfast. It might be several longer visits taking in personal care, medication, cooking, laundry and shopping. For some people the useful part is company and a reason to leave the house, which is not a lesser kind of care at all.
We work at two things especially. The first is continuity, because being met by somebody familiar is worth a great deal to anybody and is close to essential for a person living with dementia. The second is having enough time in the house to do the job properly, since care given against a stopwatch is not really care and rushing somebody frail is neither dignified nor safe.
We are guests in the homes we visit, and we expect our staff to behave that way and to tell us honestly when something has changed.
