About Oakridge House
We provide care in people's own homes across High Wycombe and the surrounding part of Buckinghamshire. The people we support have very different needs, and our approach is to start with a proper conversation about someone's life and what has become difficult, rather than with a list of what we offer. We visit older people who want to stay in their own homes, including those living with dementia, where sending familiar carers at familiar times does more good than anything else. We support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, and younger adults who need help to live the life they choose. We work with people living with mental health needs, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment, adapting how we communicate so that support genuinely works for the person. We also support people living with an eating disorder and people recovering from problems with alcohol or drugs, without judgement and without assumptions about how things will go. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission. We would rather state that plainly and invite you to ask us hard questions about recruitment, training and supervision than let it go unmentioned. If you are thinking about care at home in this area, please get in touch and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
