About Us

Care at your Home provides support in people's own homes in High Wycombe and the surrounding part of Buckinghamshire. We work with older people, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities, people with visual or hearing impairment and younger adults.

Our starting point is that people should be helped to stay in charge of their own lives, which sounds obvious but changes how support is planned. We ask what somebody wants help with, what they would rather manage themselves and what they do not want us involved in at all, and we take those answers seriously.

For older people, support might be personal care, medication, meals and a hand with the house, delivered by the same small team at times that suit the household. For autistic people and adults with learning disabilities the emphasis is usually different: support to cook, to manage money and appointments, to travel, to get to work or college, and to keep up friendships and family relationships.

Where somebody has a physical disability we learn how their equipment is used and how they prefer to be helped to move. Where there is a sensory impairment we adapt how we communicate and keep things where the person expects to find them.

We keep the teams around each person small, because care at home falls apart when the face at the door keeps changing.
