We are Care Direct UK, a home care agency in Bromley, south east London. We support people in their own homes, working with older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, and people with a physical disability or a sensory impairment. With that spread of needs there is no standard arrangement to offer. Our first conversation is about the person's ordinary day, what has become difficult and what they want to keep managing themselves, and the support is built from those answers and revisited as circumstances change. Continuity is where we put most of our effort. Sending the same carers to the same households takes more work to roster and it improves care more than anything else we could do. A carer who knows somebody notices when they are not themselves, and that early notice is often what prevents a crisis. We keep families informed and work alongside GPs, community teams and social workers. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
