About BMM Care
BMM Care supports people in their own homes across Barnet and the neighbouring parts of north London. The people we visit cover a wide range. Most are older adults, many of them living with dementia. We also support younger adults, people with a learning disability, autistic people, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability, and people who are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing. Often somebody has several of those at once, and it is usually the combination rather than any single one that makes managing alone stop being possible. We look at the household as it really is rather than at a list of tasks. Who else lives there and how tired they are. What the person can still do and would resent having taken over. Which part of the day has genuinely broken down. From that we agree what we will do, set it out in plain language, and revise it when things shift. Visits run from half an hour to most of a day and cover personal care, medicines, meals, housework, shopping, appointments and company. We try hard to send the same few workers to each address, because being recognised at the door is worth more than any policy. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
