About Bloomscare

Bloomscare provides care and support to people in their own homes in Dagenham and across Barking and Dagenham. We support older people, including many living with dementia, and adults of any age who have a learning disability or autism, a mental health condition, a physical disability, or a visual or hearing impairment. We also support people living with an eating disorder, people whose difficulties involve alcohol or drug misuse, and younger adults building independent lives. With that range of people, a standard package would be no use to anybody. We begin by asking what is genuinely hard, what somebody already manages perfectly well and how they would like a visit to go, then agree the plan from those answers and set it out in plain language. Visits can cover help with washing and dressing, prompting and support with medication, preparing meals and drinks, moving safely about the home, laundry, shopping and getting to appointments. Where the aim is building independence rather than managing decline, we support people to do things for themselves even though that takes longer. Where support touches on sensitive ground, such as eating or substance use, we work carefully and without judgement, alongside the health professionals already involved rather than around them. We work in a way that respects how people actually live, including their language, faith and family arrangements, and we aim to send the same familiar faces to each household so that nobody has to explain themselves twice. If you would like to talk about support, please get in touch.
