About Us

Hopwood Court is a residential care home on the Birmingham side of Worcestershire. We support older people, including residents living with dementia and those with a physical disability, and we offer respite care for planned short stays.

Moving into a care home is a considerable thing to ask of anyone, so we try to make the practical side of it calm. Before somebody arrives we spend time with them and with the people who know them best, because it is the small details that decide how quickly a person settles. How they take their tea. Whether they are early risers. What they did for a living. Who they want to hear from. All of that shapes how we support them from the first day.

After that, the day belongs to the resident. People choose when to get up, what to eat, where to sit and how much company they want. Meals are proper meals and we take note of what people actually enjoy rather than what is simplest to cook.

Dementia support runs through the whole home. We keep surroundings familiar, avoid rushing anyone, and take time to understand what settles a particular resident instead of applying one approach to everybody. Where someone has a physical disability we think carefully about how the home works for them rather than expecting them to work around it.

Respite stays are planned with the same care as a permanent move. Visitors are welcome, and we would rather families felt at home here. Please contact us if you would like to look round.
