About Us
Salisbury House is a residential care home in Birkenhead. We support older people who need daily care, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people living with mental health conditions, and people with a visual or hearing impairment.
The house is meant to feel like a home, because for the people living here that is precisely what it is. People decide when to get up, what they want to eat and how to spend their time. With such a mixed group under one roof, flexibility matters more than routine, so we work out what each person wants from their day and fit around it rather than asking everybody to follow the same timetable.
We also take people for respite stays. A week or two can give a family carer a proper rest, and we make a point of settling short stay guests in properly so they are part of the household rather than waiting it out.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. We keep our own checks going between inspections, because a rating tells you about one moment and the people living here deserve consistency.
If you are looking for a place for yourself or someone in your family, come and see us. Visit on an ordinary day, meet the people who live here, and ask us whatever you need to know.
