About White House

We are a residential care home in Datchet, supporting older people and younger adults, including adults with a learning disability or autism. We also offer respite stays, whether booked in advance so that a family carer can have a break or arranged at shorter notice when circumstances change. Supporting people across a range of ages and needs works only if you start from the individual rather than from a routine. For some of the people who live here what is wanted is largely practical, help with personal care, medication, meals and getting about. For others it is a day that runs to a shape they can rely on, notice before anything changes, and staff who understand that a routine may be the thing holding everything else together. We talk to the people we support, to their families and to the professionals who know them, and we build support around what we learn rather than around what suits our rota. Where somebody can do something for themselves, we would much rather they did, even when it takes longer and looks less tidy. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Visitors are welcome, and anybody thinking about a place here or a respite stay will learn more from half an hour in the building than from anything written down. Please get in touch and we will arrange a time that suits you, and we will answer whatever you would like to ask.
