About Wellhead Lane

Wellhead Lane is a residential care home in Westbury supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, including younger adults moving towards more independent living. We run this as a home. Everybody has their own room and their own things, and the shape of the day belongs to the people who live here rather than to a staff timetable. Support is agreed with each person and with those who know them well, and it can range from help with every part of personal care through to prompting and encouragement while somebody does things for themselves. We put real effort into communication, learning how each person makes themselves understood, what settles them, what they find difficult and what their behaviour is telling us when they cannot say it directly. What we learn is recorded and shared so that everybody works in the same way. People are supported to have a life beyond the front door, keeping up activities and interests, getting out into Westbury and the surrounding area, attending appointments and staying in contact with family and friends. Respite stays can be arranged where appropriate. If you are looking for a placement for somebody, please contact us. We will assess carefully and say honestly whether we can meet the need.
