About Us
Bridge House is a care home in Grange over Sands. We provide residential care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places.
Where sight or hearing has failed, a care home can very easily become a confusing and lonely place. So we make a point of the small habits that prevent that: saying who has come into the room, describing what is about to happen rather than assuming it is obvious, keeping belongings exactly where the person expects them, and making sure conversation does not stop simply because it has become harder work.
The same practical attitude runs through the rest of what we do. People here decide when to get up, how to spend the day and how much company they want. Rooms belong to the people in them, and visitors come when it suits them rather than when a rota allows.
Getting outside matters too, and we make a point of it whenever the weather is reasonable.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
