About Us
Auburn Lodge Residential Home is a residential care home in Chichester, West Sussex. We are home to older people who need support with everyday life, and we offer respite stays for people who need care for a shorter period, whether that is while a family carer takes a break or because someone wants to try life here before making a longer decision.
We keep what we do deliberately focused. Residential care for older people is our work, and we would rather do that attentively than spread ourselves across every kind of need. Residents tell us when they like to wake, what they want to eat, how much help they want with washing and dressing and how they prefer to spend the day, and the day is built from those answers rather than from a timetable that suits the rota.
Independence is protected wherever it exists. If someone can manage part of a task themselves, we leave them to it and stay nearby rather than taking over for the sake of speed. Company matters as much as practical help, and we pay attention to residents who would otherwise spend the day alone in their room.
Families are welcome whenever they want to visit and we would far rather hear a concern early. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and we hold ourselves to it in the ordinary details of life here.
