About Us

Keymer Hall Burgess Hill is a residential care home in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. We care for older people, including people living with dementia, people living with a physical disability and people living with sight or hearing loss, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places.

We try to run the home around the people in it rather than the other way about. That means getting up when you want to, eating what you actually like, having your own room treated as your own, and never being hurried through personal care because a clock says so. For people living with dementia it also means familiar staff and a calm, steady pace, which prevents far more distress than any response afterwards.

Where sight or hearing is reduced we change how we communicate, and we make sure nobody is talked about across the room rather than spoken to directly. Being included in decisions about your own care is not a courtesy, it is the point.

Relatives are welcome at times that suit them, and we would always rather hear a concern early and act on it.

We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. We would sooner tell you that ourselves, and then invite you to come and judge the home by what you see and by what the people living here tell you.

Please arrange a visit whenever suits you.
