About The Warren

The Warren is a residential care home in Northampton supporting older people, younger adults, and people living with mental ill health. We keep the house calm and run it at a domestic pace. Before somebody moves in we ask how they like their day to go, what they want help with and what they would much rather do for themselves, and we write it down so it does not depend on who happens to be on duty. Help with washing, dressing and medication is offered quietly and at the time that suits the person. Where mental ill health is part of the picture, we work closely with community teams and make sure the person is properly involved in decisions about their own care rather than having them made overhead. Stability is what helps most, so routines stay steady and staff familiar, and we do not make a drama out of the harder days. There is company for those who want it and quiet for those who would rather be left alone. Families and friends are welcome, and we would much rather hear a concern early than late. Short respite stays are available, which can also be a sensible way of finding out whether the house suits before anyone commits to anything. Please get in touch if you would like to come and see us.
