About Tabs@42

Tabs@42 is a residential care home in Northampton supporting younger adults with a learning disability, adults who are autistic and people with a physical disability. We also offer respite stays. Support here is planned around individuals rather than around a house routine. We take time to learn how each person communicates, what they enjoy, what unsettles them and how they like things done. The week belongs to the person, whether that means work, a course, volunteering, regular time with family, a favourite trip out or a settled routine that nobody interferes with. People choose their own food, keep their own belongings and habits, and have a genuine say in how the house is run. Practical help with mobility and personal care is given discreetly and in the way the person prefers, and we check that we have got it right rather than assuming. When a person becomes distressed, we treat it as information rather than as behaviour to be controlled. There is nearly always a reason, and knowing somebody well is what allows us to find it. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are proud of it, and we know it has to be earned again every day. If you would like to visit or discuss a placement or a respite stay, please get in touch.
