About Us
Northants Accommodation and Social Care provides a residential home in Northampton for adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults. Most of the people living here are younger adults, and we treat the place as their home rather than as a service they have been placed into.
That distinction shapes everything. People arrange their own rooms as they wish. People take part in shopping, cooking and the running of the house to whatever extent suits them. People go out to work, to college, to clubs and to see family, and our part is to make those things possible rather than to fill a timetable on somebody else's behalf.
Support is worked out individually and agreed with the person. Communication gets particular attention, and we use whatever works for each individual, whether that is speech, signing, symbols, objects of reference or simply knowing somebody well enough to understand what they are telling you. Without that, choice is not really choice.
Short respite stays are available. They give a family carer a proper break and let somebody spend time here before any longer decision is made.
Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please contact us if you would like to visit and see the house.
