About Us
Just Homes at New Hill in Reading is a small residential care home supporting a mixed group of adults. Some of the people living here are older and need help with the practical parts of the day. Others are younger adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, or people with a physical disability who want support to get on with their own lives.
A small home suits this mix, because staff know everybody properly and we can plan around individuals instead of running one routine for the house. One person may want help to wash and dress and then to be left in peace. Another may want us alongside them cooking, going out locally, getting to an appointment or sorting out something that has gone wrong.
We pay attention to how each person communicates, what they find difficult and what helps them settle, and we build the plan with them and with the people who know them well. Where somebody needs help to move about safely, our staff are trained for it and the right equipment is in place.
Respite stays are available and can give a family carer a genuine break while the person has a proper stay with us.
Visitors are welcome. If you are considering a place here, we would rather you came and spent some time in the house before deciding anything. Please contact us to arrange it.
