About Us

The Stables Residential Care Home is a residential care home in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. We support older people and younger adults who need help with the everyday business of living, and we offer respite care for planned short stays.

Some of the people who move in need only a steadying hand with washing, dressing and medication. Others need a good deal more. Either way the purpose is the same: to lift the daily worry so that the rest of life can carry on properly. Before someone arrives we spend time with them and with the people who know them best, because the small details are what decide how quickly a person settles. How they take their tea, whether they are early risers, what they did for a living, who they want to hear from.

After that, the day belongs to the resident. People choose when to get up, what to eat, where to sit and how much company they want. Meals are proper meals and we take note of what people genuinely enjoy rather than what is easiest to cook. Company and activity are offered rather than imposed, and somebody who wants a quiet afternoon with the paper is not a problem to be solved.

Because we support younger adults as well as older residents, we are careful not to run the house as though everybody wants the same things.

Respite stays are planned with the same care as a permanent move, whether a family carer needs a break or a household wants to try the home first.

Visitors are welcome. Please contact us if you would like to look round.
