About River Meadows
We are River Meadows, a residential care home at Kineton. We care for older people and younger adults, and many of those living with us are living with dementia. Being out in the Warwickshire countryside suits the way we work. It is a quiet setting, the garden gets used properly when the weather allows, and the unhurried pace of the place matters a great deal to the people who live here. We have tried to keep the feel of a house rather than an institution. People bring their own furniture and pictures, come down when they wake rather than when a rota says so, and spend the day as they please. Some like the sitting room and the conversation, others would rather have their own room with the radio on. Dementia care takes patience and it takes knowing the person. We spend time learning about the work somebody did, the family they raised and the routines that steady them, and we do not argue about what year it is. We meet people where they are and find something good to do together. We keep families informed and would far rather ring early about a small worry. Visitors are welcome whenever suits them. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Please get in touch to arrange a visit.
