About Aspen Court
We are a residential home in Pontefract supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, including younger adults. The house is run as a household rather than an institution. People living here have their own rooms and their own belongings and a genuine say in how the place works, from what is cooked to what happens at the weekend. For adults who have often had decisions made on their behalf, that ordinary degree of control is central to what we are trying to do. Support is arranged around each person and what they want to be able to do, whether that is work, college, volunteering, getting out regularly, keeping up with family, managing money with help or doing more around the house for themselves. Predictability matters a great deal here, so we keep staffing as consistent as we can and try not to change arrangements without warning and proper explanation. Respite stays are available alongside longer places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We would rather tell you that ourselves than have you find it elsewhere. We are working through what the inspectors identified, and if you are considering the home for yourself or someone in your family we will go through the report with you and answer anything you want to ask. Do come and visit. Meeting the people who live here will tell you more than we can.
