About Crossways
Ours is a residential care home in Mildenhall supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. It is an ordinary house, and the people who live here are part of the local area rather than set apart from it. Support is worked out with each person instead of everyone being run to the same pattern. For some that means practical help with personal care, cooking and looking after their own room and belongings. For others it is about getting out to college, work or the things they enjoy, managing money and appointments, and having somebody dependable alongside in situations that would otherwise feel too much. We take real care over how each person communicates and over what in their surroundings helps them feel settled, since those two things prevent a great deal of distress before it begins. Respite stays are available as well, which can give families a planned break and can let someone get to know us gradually rather than all at once. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep checking with the people who live here, in whatever way works for each of them, that they are content with how things are going. If you would like to visit and see whether this might suit, please get in touch and we will arrange a time.
