About Appleton Lodge
Appleton Lodge is a residential care home in the Stockport area of Manchester, providing a home for older people and for younger adults who need help with everyday life. We support people living with dementia and people living with physical disabilities. We try to keep the place feeling like a house rather than a unit. People get up when they wake, eat what they like, and spend the day as they want to spend it. The help we give covers washing and dressing, medication, meals, mobility and the many small practical things that become difficult to manage alone, offered in a way that leaves somebody their privacy. For those living with dementia we hold to steady routines and familiar staff. That consistency does more good than any technique, and our team tends to stay with us, which means people here are looked after by faces they recognise. Families are welcome whenever they want to come, and we would much rather hear a concern early than have it sit unspoken until it has grown. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places, which families often use to cover a holiday or a period of recovery at home. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to look round.
