About Us
Stowe Mount Care Home is a residential care home in Lichfield. We support older people and younger adults who need help with daily living, including people living with dementia, people with a physical disability, and those with a visual or hearing impairment.
We try to keep life here recognisable. People arrive with decades of habit behind them, and there is rarely a good reason to change any of it, so we ask about routines, preferences and the things somebody would rather do without help, and then we build the day around those answers. Meals, sleep and quiet time belong to the person, not to a rota.
Where somebody is living with dementia, familiarity does much of the work. Consistent staff, a calm pace and time to finish a thought all help, and we ask families to tell us about a person's history so that we can pick up conversations that mean something.
For people with sensory or physical needs we look at the practical detail, how somebody prefers to be approached, what makes moving about easier and what makes it harder, and we keep checking that what we agreed still fits.
We also offer respite and short stays.
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating. We would rather you formed your own view, so please visit us at a time that suits you and ask us anything.
