About Us

Here at The New Careford Lodge, we are a residential care home nestled in the village of Merriott in Somerset, and we are proud to offer a warm, genuine home for the people who live with us.

We support a range of needs across our community, including older person care, residential care, younger adults and respite care. Whether someone is joining us for a short stay to recover or rest, or making The New Careford Lodge their permanent home, we aim to ensure they feel settled, respected and truly looked after from the moment they arrive.

Somerset is a wonderful part of the world, and we think Merriott is a particularly special corner of it. We make the most of our surroundings and work hard to create an atmosphere that feels homely rather than clinical. The people who live here matter to us as individuals, and we take time to understand what makes each person comfortable, what they enjoy and how they like their day to look.

Our team works closely with residents and their families to make sure care feels personal rather than routine. We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we do not take that lightly. We welcome families to come and see us, ask questions and get a proper feel for who we are before making any decisions.

We are pleased that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as good, and we continue to reflect on that feedback as we look at where we can keep improving.

If you would like to find out more about life at The New Careford Lodge or would simply like to come for a visit, please do get in touch. We would be glad to hear from you.
